Oldboy (2013) The Spike Lee version of Oldboy is the film equivalent of prostate cancer. I knew I wasn't going to like it as much as the original but I was in shock and awe at how unbelievably awful it was. It only barely follows the story of the original and loses everything that made the Korean version a great film.

IMO, Copley's depraved English fop with sexy lingerie wearing mistress is far more stereotypical than the clean cut, youthful looking businessman of the original. Spike Lee's direction is far more generic, lacking Chan Wook Park's elegant framing and beautiful use of colour. The film is shot in dour blues and greys.
